Cookies & Cider Inspiration

I know, I know it’s only November and we still have Thanksgiving to celebrate, BUT I am beginning to plan for my family’s annual holiday party. This year the theme is Cookies & Cider. I feel like I have a good excuse though – I will be returning back to work from maternity leave the Monday after Thanksgiving and once that happens, things will be CRAZY. As a textbook planner, I wanted to get as much done as I could, before this new transition happens.

The party will be on a Saturday from 4-6pm, so we’ll provide an assortment of appetizers and ciders (hence the “Cider” part of the theme) for guests. I am really excited for a Christmas Macaron Tower I am getting from Dolce and Bean in Del Ray and a Candy Board I will be putting together (below) with an in-season color scheme.

We will be serving the below homemade cider and will also be buying other ciders (alcoholic and non-alchoholic) for guests to enjoy.

Spiced Cranberry Apple Cider.

There will be someone face-painting kids (and adults!) faces and a cookie decorating station for kids to partake in (the “Cookies” part of the theme). I will be ordering sugar cookies from Dog Tag Bakery in Georgetown for this. I have used them in the past for this very purpose with a previous nonprofit I used to work for.

Party invites have already been sent out (got to get on people’s calendars before they fill up!). I used a new, FREE, feature from Paperless Post – their flyer option. It was so easy to navigate and create.

Stay tuned for a complete recap of this holiday gathering! Go here to my lifestyle blog to read about the recap for this party.
