Spring Wedding at Dumbarton House
It’s not too common to have the opportunity to work with the same wedding clients twice in a row together, but pandemic conditions allowed just this to happen with Meredith, Alex, and their son Mack for this spring wedding at Dumbarton House! Given the landscape, Meredith and Alex chose to have an intimate, family-only ceremony and dinner celebration last November (2021), followed by a larger party with close friends the following May (2022).
The team at H&L was thrilled to be able to work with these special folks more than once, each time producing and witnessing two beautiful, yet different events where laughter and good company were all that mattered.
Meredith and Alex chose to have their reception at Dumbarton House in Georgetown, a team favorite because of their lovely gardens, terraces, and the option to have a tent brought in. (Something about tents always elevates an event right?!)
The beautiful gardens were the perfect backdrop for couple and family portraits.
Not to mention that a cocktail hour in a garden during spring is pretty much the best you can get.
Details
“I love paper” was a statement Meredith declared early on in the planning relationship, so we knew the wedding stationery was going to be good – and it was! Mack, Meredith and Alex’s two-year-old son was the artist behind all of the paper items at the wedding – one of his finger-painting creations was incorporated into the design!
The flowers were provided by the always elegant and flawless Helen Olivia team.
For dinner, guests were treated to delectable food from Well Dunn Catering. For dessert, the wedding cake was elegant and understated, but perfect in every way.
Reception
Then it was time for the dancing and fun to begin, which is always synonymous with Big Ray and the Kool Kats! They had guests dancing until minutes before we sadly had to end the night.
